(Mir means Peace)
Our Mission Statement:
"Mir House of Prayer is dedicated to our Blessed Mother Mary. Its purpose is to provide a peaceful, prayerful setting for the spiritual enrichment of The Faith Community."
Mir House of Prayer, a lay ministry by men and women of the Roman Catholic Church, is as much a virtuous attitude as a physical place; an attitude of the need for prayer and solitude in the life of every person as a means of living in peace, spiritual renewal and growth.
Mir House of Prayer opened in 1989 as a non-profit organization. It is governed by a board of directors and is under the auspices of the Bishop of KC-St. Joseph, Missouri diocese. The Chapel of the Holy Rosary was built and dedicated to the "Sacred Heart of Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary" for the purpose of 24 hour, 7 days a week Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration which began August 1,1999. The Chapel was designated a Pilgrimage Site by the Bishop for the Jubilee Year 2000.
The Mir House of Prayer Community celebrated thirty years of prayer and twenty years of continuous 24 hours Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in 2019!
Our mission is to PRAY - PRAY - PRAY!
